High Gravity Tasting Event

Written by Bill Fowler

Since we opened our doors back in April we’ve been eager to do something big; some kind of big event that would announce our intent to be Huntsville’s Craft Beer HQ and also have a little fun as well.

Well, buckle your chinstraps because that event is happening!

On October 18th from 1pm to 6pm, Holmes Ave from Greene St to Lincoln St will be closed for your very own private use. (In case you’re unsure where that is exactly, it’s the street right in front of our store at 301 Holmes)

In that spot will be a stage for live music (featuring Milltowne), lots of cornhole sets, food trucks and (ideally) lots of people enjoying the tastiest brews available in North Alabama.

Each of the area’s breweries will be there to talk about their craft and sell their swag while we’re busy pouring beer samples inside. Admission is $18 before the event or $20 at the door. That gets you 7 tickets that you hand to your lovable OTBX beer expert in exchange for 3 ounce pours of all kinds of local high gravity beers.

That’s 7 tickets for 7 pours. We’ll have approximately 25 beers of 7% or greater on tap that day from which to choose. We’ll also have several beers below 7% if you’d prefer less octane.

So let’s recap. Awesome local music, fun and games plus some great beer and the people that make it. What else could you ask for on a Fall Sunday afternoon in Huntsville?

Oh yes, tickets. You’ll need those tasting tickets. Get those HERE.

Kids, dogs, mothers-in-law… are all welcome. See you on Sunday, October 18th.
